5 Questions: Adam Duby, HR Solutions Architect

You’ve heard from Hamlet and Steve about their experience building Velocity.  You’ve heard from Thomas about his experience with Velocity as the company has grown over the years.  Today we’d like to get into the weeds a bit and introduce you to Adam Duby, our chief HR Solutions Architect.

Adam has been with the company for over two years, and in that time he has not only managed one of our oldest and most important accounts, but he has also been a key collaborator in helping to grow our ICIMS business and support the rest of the ICIMS team by sharing his experience, expertise, and insight.

Velocity is eager to help our customers in any way possible, regardless of if we are in a contract with the customer or not, from the free office hours to quick fixes for the customer’s database. Velocity also strives to make sure the employees are satisfied with the direction of the company and their place in it. Velocity is always asking for opinions and advice and then putting them into practice.

The greatest challenge working with the ICIMS clients is finding solutions for each of their individual needs.  No two ICIMS customers are alike, even when in the same industry.  This has allowed me to expand on my understanding of how ICIMS works as well as be able to come up with custom fixes for our customers.

One of the most underutilized features of ICIMS is the reporting center.  Most customers do not even know it exists.  The reporting center is a robust reporting module where customers can put most of their reporting matrix.  Most ICIMS customers crowd their dashboards with tons of reports that are not needed for day-to-day duties.  This causes two different issues.  First, heavy reports become a performance issue for the platform.  Every time the dashboard page is refreshed, all reports on the dashboard are run over again.  Second, a lot of the reporting may not pertain to users’ day-to-day duties, so they become a nuisance that the user has to navigate around.  The reporting center is a great tool.

I think the future of ICIMS is going to be amazing.  The recent release of workflow automation allows customers to build out automated workflows for Recruiting workflow status changes, automated emails, Interviews, and Offers.  The hiring automation is a huge release, and I think with more enhancements to that, as well as some of their other enhancements they have coming, ICIMS will become even more of a staple in the HR/Recruiting realm.
